Pier 21 Riverside Apartment Hotel

I had a really cozy, relaxing stay and would love to come back. They upgraded me to the top floor, and the view was amazing, so picturesque. The staff were lovely and attentive. One disappointment was that housekeeping doesn’t make up the bedroom, and that costs an extra $30. They did give me fresh towels, though. I’d highly recommend the place.

The bathroom and kitchen had cockroaches, and there was mold in the bathroom. The room also got hot, since there’s no AC in the rooms. At the front desk, the attendant wasn’t welcoming or friendly. I’d booked a studio that was meant to have a water view, but was put in a corner family room instead. It was dark and really cramped. I wouldn’t recommend it. For the same price, you can stay at Rendezvous in Scarborough for better views, cleaner rooms, and amazing service.

The only thing I liked was the river view. The place is super small and, honestly, not good in any other way. Room 7 was very basic and not worth the cost. There’s no aircon in the bedrooms, only in the main living area of the two-bedroom unit, and it wasn’t comfortable for four people. Just one couch, two outdoor chairs, and hardly any space to put things. We paid an extra $55 a day for the pet, but they provided nothing extra. There’s no carpet, so what’s the extra money for? After trying to sleep without aircon, we had a horrible night, sweating in bed. They brought a fan for the room, but even on low it sounded like a 737-800 beside your head all night. The floor was super sticky. We only found that out when we took our shoes off at night. It looked like it had been cleaned by Stevie Wonder. They also won’t come clean your room unless you pay extra. We tried to get breakfast, but it had inconveniently shut at 9am. I honestly can’t get over how horrible the room is, and we’re stuck here for three more nights.

We stayed right by the water at Pier 21 in Fremantle and included breakfast in our booking. We weren’t disappointed. Every morning Fleur and Angelo did their best to make sure we had an enjoyable start to the day. Thanks for making the stay more enjoyable. Mary & Alex
