Pirates Backpackers - Hostel

I booked a week at Pirates Backpackers at first, and somehow two months later I'm still here. It's about the size of a big house, so it feels like a home away from home. The staff are so friendly, and there's always some social activity planned where you can have fun and meet people. Being right in central Freo is a big plus too, with everything you need within walking distance. Highly recommend!

I arrived at Pirates expecting to stay only until I found a sublet. Nearly two months on, I'm still here because I love it. It's got the feel of a share house and a home away from home, which is great for solo travellers. The atmosphere is welcoming, friendly, and a good mix of fun and relaxed, with activities being organised all the time. A special mention for Vaughan and Valentina. They really care about everyone, and take the time to learn people's names and stories. I'll be so sad when I eventually leave.

I expected to stay at Pirates for a week, but ended up there for four months. I had a great time and met a lovely group of friends who felt like family. The staff were kind and always ready to help with whatever came up. There are cosy common areas and lots of things going on, including yoga, dancing, movie nights, painting and good parties. I can highly recommend staying for a while and enjoying the spirit of the place. I'll always be happy to come back.

I spent my final 2 weeks of my visa here and had an amazing time with so many people. I'd expected to just pass the days, but the hostel made me feel so welcome and I ended up doing lots of cool things. The staff were top notch too. I'd recommend it to anyone! 😃
