The Peninsula Riverside Serviced Apartments

The reception team was helpful with everything, and when our wedding bouquets arrived, they brought them up to the room while we were getting ready. Every staff member we met was friendly. We also felt safe and welcome as a same-sex couple, with none of the staff making us uncomfortable. There were well wishes from staff who saw us before our taxi picked us up, which meant a lot. We stayed in apartment 206 at The Peninsula apartments on November 12 and 13, 2025, for our wedding at Kings Park on the 13th. We were touched to find a bottle of bubbly and a card wishing us well for the wedding and our future. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Sitting on the balcony to look at the river and city lights was lovely. The price seemed reasonable for an apartment in South Perth with a Swan river view. The stay became a big part of our wedding experience. We’d happily return for a getaway and recommend The Peninsula apartments to anyone staying in South Perth. Thank you to all the staff. The listing is misleading, at best. We booked a room with a balcony, but what we got was a tiny alcove facing the car park. I emailed management to complain and got no real response, just an email repeating the parking policy. You only find out three days before your trip that parking is first come, first served. If the lot is full, you have to pay for street parking. The room was roughly finished, dark, and not as nice as the photos. There were bugs on the window sills and no sheer curtains for privacy, so opening the windows meant the whole world could look in. The WiFi was slower than mobile data, and the hot water system was tiny. The woman at the desk was nice and helpful. I’d stay elsewhere next time. I’ve attached a lovely photo of the 'balcony'.

That guest lounge coffee machine was a real plus, and getting between South Perth and the city was easy. But the apartments felt very dated and dark, with tired rooms and cracked bathroom tiles that took away from the comfort. The Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out, which was frustrating for work or several devices. The TVs only had local channels, with no casting or way to connect your own streaming services. For the location it’s fine, but the condition and limited modern amenities make it poor value. A refurbishment and tech upgrade would help a lot.

We’re travelling up north with quite a lot of food, and managed to fit it all into the fridge and freezer. The kitchen was great, with a decent-sized fridge, and the apartment was spotless and spacious. We loved the location, and free parking was a big bonus. The staff were friendly and professional. Best hotel in Perth for us. Lovely accommodation, we’ll come back!
