We returned to Unit 7 at the Lookout again this January, after several previous stays. The open plan apartment is clean, attractively decorated and well equipped, with everything we needed for an easy, relaxing holiday. Our children enjoyed the infinity-edged pool between short drives to Straddie’s beautiful beaches. But that balcony view is hard to leave: an unobstructed panorama of the beachfront and Pacific Ocean, simply breathtaking. The layout is very user friendly, and I highly recommend Unit 7/ The Lookout for a perfect getaway.

We’ve stayed in unit 4 twice and have booked it again. The view is lovely and the unit is comfortable. It isn’t brand new, but it’s well cared for. The big dining table makes it easy to picture family and friends gathering there over the years.

The view is still stunning, but that’s about all I can praise after our week there. We’d stayed in unit 7 twice before, two years ago, and this time the apartment was a real disappointment. It’s worn and run down, and the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The patio vergola leaks and is rusty. Gutters on the building leak badly too, with dripping at night like Chinese torture. Some parts are tired and tatty. I wouldn’t go back.

The view was awesome, and we even saw whales jumping. It rained for three days, but we still loved our four nights there. You can’t help the weather.
