Pipi Palace

The house itself is spacious, with lovely views and comfortable beds, but its upkeep needs attention. For a place of this quality, it was disappointing to find no spare toilet rolls, soap, dishwashing detergent or hand towels. The ceiling fan in the main living room doesn't work, and the upstairs toilet needs maintenance. Cleanliness also fell short, with rubbish under the sofas and beds, including children's toys, lollies and other rubbish. My rating is for the house and views.

The view is beautiful, but inside the house was a real disappointment. There were over 10 cockroaches, dead and alive, in the downstairs bathroom and bedrooms. The pillowcases were stained and yellowed, so we had family bring linen and pillows from home. The kitchen plates and bowls were dirty, with poo and wee on them from some kind of creepy crawlers. Upstairs wasn't much better. The light switches had dust caked on top, the leather recliner had gecko droppings, and moving the Foxtel box revealed chip crumbs on it and filthy shelves. Behind the TV cabinet were children's toys, Christmas baubles and dust all over the floor. The Foxtel wasn't working either, and I had to connect the HDMI cable to the box and TV. On arrival, the main living area lights were flickering and not working properly, and its fan, the only way to get air circulating there, wasn't working. Thankfully an electrician came on Sunday afternoon and fixed those problems. The front door was also off its hinge and needed great force to open and close, but that has since been fixed. The house's presentation doesn't match the listing. The furniture shown in the photo of the downstairs TV area isn't what's currently there, and the shrubs at the front are overgrown and untidy. It was very disappointing to arrive after seeing lovely pictures and find such a different atmosphere.

The balcony has an amazing view for meals or just relaxing. Wild kangaroos and goannas add a fun, authentic Australian holiday feel. Great for 6-8 people.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful place. It would be great if the aircon, living room ceiling fan and another fridge freezer worked.
