The Lane Retreat

We’d happily come back after a lovely Anzac Day long weekend. The location was perfect, and complimentary transfers to wineries and partner restaurants made getting around so easy. Service was friendly and prompt throughout. Our room was great, with a super comfortable king bed, and the spacious bathroom’s double shower heads and double vanity were a highlight.

We came back to The Lane Retreat for a second stay, and it was just as good as we remembered. Our villa had beautiful lake and mountain views, and was so peaceful, especially for watching the sunset. The place is still new, clean and well maintained. Being pet-friendly makes the experience extra special for us. Looking forward to coming back again.

A fantastic breakfast was already waiting in the room, so there was no need to go anywhere, and they also left a welcome bottle of wine to start us off. The modern, well-equipped rooms are in small buildings, with groups of three units set apart from the others. Each room has a balcony with chairs and a little table, a nice place to take in the quiet atmosphere, with only birds to be heard. It’s an outstanding place to relax. You do need a car to get around, but the nearest wineries are only about 5 to 10 minutes away, so the drives are short.

The self check-in and check-out were easy, and free parking was a real bonus. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and breakfast supplies for both days. The place felt modern, homely and spotless, with a great location for wine tasting. The balcony seating was lovely, and yes, we spotted kangaroos nearby. The bed was incredibly soft, the towels fluffy, and the spacious showers had plenty of hot water. Replies to emails were very quick and friendly. We could have used a bit more bottled water, and the different room views didn’t seem all that different to us. It was too cold for the pool, sadly. TEN STARS!
