Karribank

That old truck turned into a live performance stage is such a cool touch. Karribank is also a great choice for wedding receptions and big celebrations, and I imagine they may cater for corporate events too, so call and ask. I went with close friends who'd been raving about the place so much I wasn't sure I believed them. They were right: the food, service, setting and atmosphere were all great. I travel around Western Australia regularly, alone, with family or with friends. I tend to write about good, great and outstanding places, rather than the worst ones, which don't serve much purpose. This is definitely one of the outstanding ones. Dress smartly, bring good company or family, and leave yourself some time to spare. Wow, my reviews are usually short. Thanks for reading to the end.

The kids have so much room to enjoy themselves here. They ride bikes around the property, play on the playground and run through the open fields. We played sports, spent time together, and gathered around a huge bonfire the owner built just for our group. The function room works beautifully for group sessions, and the café, theater, restaurant and tavern are all well cared for and have a great feel. We've brought ministry retreats here several times, and every visit has been a blessing. After more than 20 years of camps and retreats across the USA and Western Australia, this is easily the best retreat accommodation we've stayed in. The petting zoo, volleyball area and walking trails are all great, too. For us, what makes Karribank different is the presence of God we feel on the land. It has a deep sense of peace and restores the soul. We've experienced that each time we've come. It's also become our regular base camp for climbing in the Stirling Range. I can't praise it enough. One of WA's best kept secrets.

We're staying for two nights, and I'd say it's well worth a visit. The accommodation, staff, food and drinks have all been first class. Karribank really is an undiscovered gem in the south of Western Australia. Graham and Annie Weaver.
