The room was clean and looked after, and the park was wonderfully quiet, so we got a proper rest after a long day on the road. The staff were warm and made check-in and the rest of the stay easy. One small annoyance: the bed wheels weren't locked, so it shifted around a bit. Still a peaceful, pleasant stop with great service.
A hot shower in a clean space felt so good after driving 11 hours from Melbourne. I could park easily and put up my rooftop tent in the designated spot near the amenities and camp kitchen. The staff welcomed me late in the afternoon, and it was quiet overnight. I set off early toward the Nullarbor feeling rested. I'd recommend this place to people breaking up a trip, including families with kids. Thank you ☺️
The kids enjoyed the pool, and the place was very affordable. We arrived in Port Augusta on a 48-degree day, and the friendly staff had already switched on the cooling before giving us the key. It felt so good. A really good place for a night or even a few, and we'd stay again if we drive through.
I only stumbled across Ride on Pizza by chance, and their Italian woodfired pizza was the best I've had in decades. Discovery Park Port Augusta should let guests know where it is and when it's available, like other Discovery Parks do with their on-site meals. These guys deserve the support.
We travel a lot, and keep finding this park a great choice. It's easy to book online, convenient, friendly, and very welcoming to pets. We look forward to stopping over again.
