Sunnyside Motel

The units are handy for getting to the main street facilities in Port Broughton. Check-in happens at the nearby hotel bar on the main street, and that was fairly painless. The staff were friendly. From the outside, the motel looks like it could be straight from the 70s, but the inside has been renovated. There’s a decent amount of space, though the bathroom is quite small. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room also had a decent-sized flat-screen TV, electric jug, glasses, coffee cups, tea, coffee, and milk. These units do the job, and the location is good. We would have liked a tea towel, a small microwave, and a ceiling fan in the room.

There’s a great atmosphere with both locals and travellers, especially on Friday night for the meat tray raffle. The hotel rooms were clean and spacious, and it was quiet. Just a short stroll to the waterfront, or more importantly, the Port Broughton Hotel.

Love how clean the rooms are. They’re spotless and recently renovated, and the outside looks tidy too, though more renos are still underway. The pool looks tired but was clean. The downside was having to go to the pub down the road to collect the key. I’d have liked to know before arriving, since we’d already had lunch at the hotel and then had to go back for the key. That’s why I gave service fewer stars. Once the updates are finished, it’ll be five stars.

We had a really spacious family room in this clean, comfortable country motel. The air con kept it properly cool through two hot days and nights. The price was reasonable, and we’ll stay here again on our next visit to Port Broughton.
