The staff made us feel so welcome and really looked after us. Our one bedroom apartment had a spa and was wonderfully relaxing, and having our own kitchen and laundry was so handy. The Mantra is just around the corner from the shops and beach, too.

Jimmy was especially helpful when my husband suddenly became unwell. He helped us find medical care and sort out changes to our accommodation, and we’re very grateful for his compassion at such a stressful time. We also loved the pools and our room, and having a swim out with sun loungers was a lovely bonus. The staff were impressive throughout, and the location was great.

Port Douglas restaurants, the beach and other amenities are all within walking distance, so the location is really convenient. But staff are only around during limited hours, which felt strange for a hotel. We were left wondering what set it apart from an Air BnB. Checking in after hours was confusing, too. We couldn’t get clear instructions and ended up calling a 1300 number. The hotel doesn’t have its own direct phone line, even during staffed hours.

The shower had lovely water pressure, and the spacious bathroom and well equipped modern kitchen made the apartment a pleasure to use. Our 1brm apartment was spotlessly clean, bright and light. We’ve just returned from two nights at Mantra Aqueous, and I’d happily come back. It’s our favourite of the Mantras in Port.
