Seascape Holiday at the Queenslander

The pool is awesome, and the shops are close by. Beds were comfortable, with air conditioning and fans, and the kitchen was well equipped. The bathrooms are a bit worn, but do the job. I'd stay again. Just note, we were on the top floor and there's no lift.

The location was perfect, the kitchen was very well equipped, and having laundry in the room with washing powder provided was great. But for the price, the stay was disappointing, and I wouldn't return. The online photos were misleading. Our ground-floor room was dark, dated, and felt cheap. The shower needed a deep clean, there was lots of dust behind the bed, and the fridge was rusty and going mouldy on the outside. Loud music from nearby apartments kept us awake on two nights until 5am, which seems to happen often. The shutter windows let the sound through easily. Reception was boarded up, and the pool area had broken umbrellas and old furniture. The whole place felt neglected and poor value.

Room number 1 was unlike anything I've stayed in. It was filthy, with hair, grime, cobwebs, broken blinds and marks on the walls. The fridge looked older than Australia, and I was too scared to put food in it. I never write reviews like this, but I want people to be able to enjoy their holidays, so please don't book this place unless you want to spend your first night cleaning.

Management were lovely and accommodating, and the place was well priced, well located for walking to most things, and had everything you need. But there is room for improvement. My partner and I may have just been unlucky with our apartment, which was right beside the pool and BBQ area. It got very noisy when people were there and spoiled some days, so it wasn't relaxing for a couple. The glass shutters and fly screen let noise through. We also lost sleep on a few nights because residents on the ground floor were disruptive and disrespectful to other guests. The apartment was well equipped, but the crockery and utensils stank when we arrived, so I had to scrub them before using them. The pillows and mattress were very hard. I'd probably stay again for a short visit, but definitely not during school holidays. Couples who don't like noise should pick another resort.
