We had a very responsive management team, who replaced the rusty fry pans, but there were several letdowns. The villa was spotless, yet noise from the main street and very close neighbours carried on until 11pm every night. Kitchen basics were lacking too, including a working dishwasher and soap. It also isn’t suitable for anyone with mobility issues: two showers were set in sunken baths that were too deep to get out of.

The property is spacious, in decent condition, and centrally located. The main strip below gets loud at night until the bars and restaurants close, which seems to be around 2am. There’s also a restaurant opposite, and the staff clearing up after service can make noise very late.

We loved staying here. It has a beautiful setting, a great view, and that Balinese luxury feel right in the heart of Port Douglas.
