Pool Port Douglas

The kids loved the pools, and our morning coffee routine was an easy five-minute walk to St Crispins. Heather and Brigit were lovely to deal with before we arrived and during our stay. Our room was spacious, with a spectacular view from the pool/mountain room. The resort is a short drive from the main part of town, so it suited us for a quieter getaway. We loved staying here.

We stayed with our adult daughter in one of the four two-bedroom swim-out lap pool apartments. It was peaceful, with a beautiful golf course view. Our friends were in a much larger apartment that swam out to the big pool, which was fantastic. Heather and Bridgit were lovely and helpful both on the phone and in person. There's a cafe just around the corner, St Crispins, with good coffee and lunches and a gorgeous view. A car is best for getting to Port Douglas main street, though we also took an Uber and used the shuttle a couple of times.

We stayed ten days, and Heather was incredibly helpful. Staff were amazing! The bright, clean rooms had comfortable beds, and the swim-out apartment was worth it, with a good-sized deck looking onto the inviting pool. The pool isn't heated, but we swam every day. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and a good-sized fridge/freezer; the washer and dryer were easy to use. We loved the nearby cafe, a five-minute walk away, with great food and coffee and a view over the golf course. The beach was ten minutes on foot, perfect for daily walks and runs. Parking was easy. Although the resort was full for school holidays, it never felt crowded, with so much space and pool. So glad we chose it, and we'd go back.

Having a car made the location great, but this place definitely wasn't worth 400 a night. The kitchen was excellent, so cooking could save you money, and the wifi was great. The room design was baffling. Fridges opened onto glass sliding doors, there was shelving right above your head in bed, and the main bedroom was small, windowless, and felt claustrophobic. There was nowhere for toiletries in the bathroom. The main bedroom had no TV, while the kids' bedroom did, so they got to watch at night and we didn't.
