Coral Beach Lodge

We booked late for NYE in Port Douglas, so I wasn't expecting much, but this place was fantastic. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. There's undercover parking, a pool, a cafe and lots of activities. You can walk to the Marina, and town centre is a little further. I'd definitely recommend it.

A great place right in the heart of Port Douglas. The rooms were clean and the kitchens had everything we needed. Shops and the beach are an easy walk away, and our kids loved the pool and all the games.

Such a great place for families with kids, I couldn't fault it. There's heaps to do, and the rooms are lovely, comfortable and clean, all for a great price. Perfect for local families wanting a weekend away. Thanks so much for everything 💚

The rooms were comfortable, clean and tidy, the camp kitchen was great, and I liked having the pool and table tennis. Bring your own fork, there never seemed to be enough, and maybe earplugs too. There was a strange bathroom smell when we arrived, but it went away after a day once we'd aired the room out. The main problem was the noise. I called reception before booking and was told it might be noisy until around 11pm, which seemed reasonable. Instead, it felt like party central every night. Hospitality workers would come back around 9pm, have dinner, turn up the music and carry on until 1 or 2am. They were long-term guests on work visas, friendly and not aggressive, just really loud. Management wouldn't give them any guidelines about keeping the noise down or considering other guests. When I asked about the noise policy, management said there was no legislation restricting noisy guests' hours. It felt like they'd take our money but didn't care whether short-term guests had a good stay. On a short holiday, you want a decent night's sleep so you can make the most of each day. I understand the plan is to be backpackers only next year, so perhaps they won't get complaints about noise then, unless it comes from neighbours, poor people. With the facilities and location, I would have loved to give Coral Beach Lodge five stars.
