The ocean view is lovely, and you can hear the waves from the room with the windows shut, which I really liked. The house is also conveniently located and comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need. Upstairs felt old, though. My husband and I couldn’t sleep in the same bed because the mattress was too soft or too old, and his movements kept waking me. The upstairs bathroom had a dirty shower curtain that was too long for the bathtub.

The location is great, but the place needs attention. I had to clean the greasy, stained sofa with upholstery cleaner. There were cobwebs and tiny spiders on the front door hinge, lint filling the dryer, and the fresh towels on the beds were still damp. In the second bedroom, the doona and pillow smelled mouldy. The paint was peeling, and the bathroom and laundry were old. Old is fine by me, but mould isn’t.

We stayed for five days over Australia Day 20. The rooms were spacious and clean, with a great view, and the beach and town centre are only a short walk or drive away. I did miss having a TV in the main bedroom for watching in bed or having a lie-in.

Unless you’re there to surf 😂😂😁, I don’t think this hotel is worth it. There are better places to visit.
