The Hallows Accommodation

We spent three nights here over the weekend, and it was exactly the clean, comfortable, affordable place I was after. The room matched its description, the sheets were fresh, there was no smell, no stale milk, and no vomit on the floor. Staff were professional and easy to deal with. Hot water was plentiful, the shower pressure was fantastic, and the large modern TV had good colour and picture. All the streaming apps worked. I can't speak to the Wi-Fi speed, since it was easier to hotspot my phone with cheap, almost unlimited 5G data. The games room was fun, though the air hockey table leans a bit to the right and down, so my wife beat me at that. The foosball table tilts a little left and up, which worked in my favour. A bit of cardboard under a leg might fix things, but who cares. The Witcher books in the common room were a nice touch. The only other tiny hassle was spending five seconds figuring out which way to go from the outdoor stairwell, a sign on its door would help. For the price, this place is great. If you want the Hilton, pay Hilton prices, but don't expect a six-star resort here. If clean, easy, cheap, and comfortable is what you're after, it's just as advertised. We'll stay again. Thanks to management and staff for having us, and sorry about the million empty booze cans. We tidied, bagged, and boxed them as best we could. Cheers.

The games room was awesome. Bring plenty of gold coins for the arcade machine, and the air hockey and foosball tables were in good shape. We had a great time. The room had the amenities you'd expect, was clean, and had clean sheets. The bed was comfy, and the shower had great temperature and pressure. Service was friendly and helpful. When I asked for extra towels, I was given friendly directions to get them myself. I'm not sure whether I spoke to the owner or manager, but they were lovely. The Hallows was great value, with beautiful views, a convenient location, and a good vibe. Everything else was excellent, though there wasn't any paranormal activity, which I'd been a little excited to see. That's one star off for no ghosts. I'd definitely stay at The Hallows again. I needed just one night near my workplace, and this place was a little cheaper than other options nearby. The stay turned out very comfortable, just what I wanted. It was quiet at night, away from the busy town centre, and I slept well. Mount Panorama is close, so it could be noisy at certain times of the year. The room and attached bathroom were very clean, with the essentials including towels, and everything worked well. The shower pressure was excellent. My room was on the ground floor. I was initially a bit concerned about security, but it faced the car park and had a door out to it that opened once unlocked. Since I was alone, that made carrying my luggage in very easy, and I appreciated it. I arrived close to 8pm, and self check-in was simple: I entered a code in the dial-style security box outside and got the key. The next morning I noticed a shared kitchen inside, which I'd missed in the dark the night before. There was a kettle there that would've been handy for tea, since the room had none. Checkout was just as easy, I dropped the key in a box on the unattended counter. For someone needing a clean, quiet place to sleep, it ticked all the boxes.

This was by far my most disappointing stay through booking.com. I booked, then needed to cancel and gave six months' notice. The property didn't respond at all or show any interest in discussing refund options. Be warned.
