Robin Hill Retreat

The location was great and the unit itself had good equipment, but the cleanliness and maintenance were shocking. The tile floor was sticky and dirty when we arrived, enough to leave our feet black, so we had to mop it. There were live cockroaches in the kitchen cupboards, mould on the shower walls and bathroom ceiling, and several wasp nests on the outside wall, some bigger than an adult hand. They were a bit scary. The unit is below the hosts’ house. Their footsteps overhead woke us at 5:45 every morning and even rattled the internal garage door, though we hardly heard them at other times. The screen door wouldn’t shut or lock, and the front door took force to open and close. It needs a thorough clean and repairs. I was stunned to see other reviews calling it clean.

Whenever work brings me to Bathurst, this is my go-to place. It feels like a home away from home, and the facilities exceed what I’d expect, from the fully equipped kitchen and roomy bathroom to the 5.5 kg washing machine that makes travelling light easy. Mario and Carmelina are great to deal with and often do more than we need. I highly recommend calling Robin Hill Retreat if you’re looking for somewhere to stay. You won’t be disappointed.

We had heaps of room, privacy and every amenity we needed. It was clean, comfortable and very welcoming. Also close to Mt Panorama for a couple of laps, or three or four. Thanks, Mario!
