Kim welcomed me at the desk with a big smile and some handy Great Ocean Road tips, including Bay of Martyrs. That warm reception set the tone. We were in unit 17, a two-bedroom place, and it was spotless, with plenty of shower pressure. The kitchen was stocked with a jug of cold water, and the Makuna honey shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all smelled lovely. The high-powered AC and fans came in handy, too. The bed was super comfortable, with fresh, perfectly starched sheets that somehow still felt silky soft. I need to find out where they’re from. The towels were unbelievably plush and soft as well. I’ve spent almost 600 nights in Marriott hotels over the last eight years, and these linens are among the best I’ve had. The facilities were comfortable, the location was excellent, and the staff were great. This was the best hotel of our Australian trip. The owners clearly care, and it shows.

The team were warm and friendly, and we could use the onsite laundry for a small fee. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés close by, plus easy beach access. Our one-night stay was a pleasure. The two-bedroom villa was very clean, nicely decorated, and had comfortable beds. The kitchen had the basic cutlery we needed to cook.

We stayed longer than planned, partly because it was an easy drive to the Twelve Apostles and we wanted more time for the region’s beer, wine, and food. Waterfront Motor Inn also made a great base for seeing the Great Ocean Road, or GOR. Right across from the beach, it was easy to go for a swim or take a quiet morning or afternoon walk without crowds. Good dining and takeaway choices are only a short, flat walk away. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we enjoyed winding down on the little deck with its table and chairs, a glass of wine, and the sound of the waves. The owners were very helpful and offered lots of suggestions for local sights. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely time at Waterfront Motor Inn. The friendly reception staff made us feel welcome, and the location was so handy for walking to FoodWorks, cafés, and places to eat. Our room was clean and had the microwave, fridge, cutlery, and utensils we needed for an easy stay. Highly recommended for a visit to the area.

The shower was so good I wish I had one like it at home. We were really happy with the rooms, and the woman at check-in was exceptionally cheerful. I’d recommend this motel to anyone.
