The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, but the location is what really makes this a good place to stay. The bar service was great too. I’d skip eating at the hotel, though, since there are plenty of better breakfast, lunch, and dinner options nearby. I’d definitely stay again.

That outdoor dining area really rounded things off for us. We’d come looking for a proper old-fashioned pub meal, and The Esplanade delivered: friendly, attentive staff, huge and tasty Parmi's, and reasonable prices.

We had dinner here and the team was really helpful about catering for allergies. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. There’s lovely covered outdoor seating too.

The lemon lime and bitters was spot on. It’s nice to find staff who know how to make a drink properly. I also had the chicken schnitzel with chips and salad for lunch on my day off. Very good, and there was more than I could finish. I’ll be back.

We had an excellent late lunch while looking out over the busy port. It’s an interesting, convenient spot, with outdoor seating where dogs are welcome and an air-conditioned dining room inside. The team were very friendly and handled our special requests with great service. A few menu items felt a little pricey, though the staples are within the usual pub and restaurant range.
