South Hedland Motel

The prices are crazy for such poor quality. The place smells bad, the food is nasty, and there are cockroaches, mold, and other bugs. Walls and furniture are deteriorated, the electricity and hot water never work, and the staff are rude and unprofessional. This place should be shut down. Worst motel ever.

It was basic but usable. The room smelled, the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly, and the towels they supplied stank. I probably wouldn’t come back.

The bathroom had peeling paint, and parts of the walls were only half plastered. Water dripped from the AC onto the light fitting. There wasn’t a power point beside either side of the bed for my CPAP, so I couldn’t use it and slept badly. This place feels stuck in the 90s and needs a proper renovation. Sorry, but it’s not worth $280 a night.

I’ve stayed in outback motels in better condition for half the cost. Here, the room was in poor shape: the metal louvers couldn’t be adjusted because the cord was snapped. The coffee cup still looked dirty after I tried rinsing off the stains, so I had to use my travel cup. The toilet was stained, and the wash basin and lower shower walls needed cleaning too.
