Tasman Holiday Parks - Myola

The park is affordable, and there was a great band playing in the camp kitchen on New Year’s Eve. But around 80% of the accommodation is permanent cabins or holiday homes, so lots of young kids are regulars there. They often run around yelling late into the night, and park officials don’t seem to step in since the families are owners or regular visitors. It happens most nights and makes it really hard to get young kids to sleep.

The wildlife was a real highlight, especially the sweet kangaroo that bounced over looking for attention and all the colourful parrots. We only stayed one night, and it was good value. There were just us and what seemed like a big family group there. The place is a bit far from things. Toilets and showers were clean, though the hot water took a while to come through, probably because I was the only one showering that night. The camp kitchen was basic, with the washing-up sinks outside by the toilets instead of in the kitchen. Plugs for the sinks would be useful.

The cabin was lovely, but the floor hadn’t been cleaned, there was a blowfly on the windowsill when we arrived, and a dirty paw mark on the inside of the sliding glass door. There was also a wasp nest under the awning. They already knew about it after we pointed it out, but it had been overlooked.

The pool was clean and well looked after, and the rooms were clean too. The area is remote and some services are missing, but that’s made up for by the beach access. It’s somewhat private, and the sand is some of the whitest and smoothest you’ll see. A great value spot for a family holiday. We’ll be back.
