Coffs Shearwater Motel

I booked this motel for a good night’s sleep during a long drive, but other guests were so noisy that my sleep kept getting interrupted. The rooms have no soundproofing. Light from the outside sensor lights kept shining into the room through the door’s glass panels. It’s the worst motel I’ve stayed in.

The reception was very hostile, and the whole stay was a joke. There was no coffee or soap, and no toilet paper. The shower didn’t work properly: the hot water was cold and the cold water was warm. Furniture had marks and dust on it, sheets were left by the motel near room 11, in front of a blue garage door where people sleep, and they were on filthy ground. The pillowcases and sheets had stains too. I’ve visited many motels in Australia, but this was the worst experience I’ve had. It wasn’t worth $140. Go somewhere else, I’m begging you not to stay here and deal with what I did.

The room was reasonably clean, but there were no face washers or floor towels in the bathroom. Whenever I opened my eyes during the night, all the lights around the building made it seem like daylight outside.

It was handy being just outside town, with easy access and a fairly quiet setting. The room furniture was the real problem: several pieces were torn or broken and looked neglected, well below what I'd expect for guest accommodation.
