Ozzie Pozzie Backpackers

I was there for three nights in a single room with a shared bathroom. The bathroom was okay, and the room itself was clean, with a basic but comfortable bed, a little desk and chair, and a ceiling fan. But there was no bin, and without shelves or a wardrobe I had to put all my things on the desk. The bigger problem was the wifi. The hostel says it's available throughout the property, but I couldn't get any in my room at all. That isn't acceptable.

The location was actually pretty good, with malls and the CBD within walking distance. But this is fine for one night, not somewhere I'd want to spend a week. The “private room” felt more like a cell, and that mattress had me questioning my life choices. I could feel every single spring.

The place was cozy and very clean, and the staff had a great vibe. I'd definitely come back. One Italian girl on staff wasn't very friendly, and we even felt a little discriminated against by her, but everything else was really good. I don't hand out five stars every time!

I went to Ozzie Pozzie Backpackers hoping to get away from the chaos of Sydney, without really knowing what to expect. Turns out it was such a good call. The volunteers were always smiling, supportive, and willing to go the extra mile, and they helped make the place feel warm and sociable. The atmosphere has a great energy, like a home away from home. I'm so glad I found my go-to spot for a getaway. I'll be back much sooner than I thought!
