I needed a procedure at the Public Hospital, so we stayed at Rotary Lodge to make things easier. It's there for people needing accommodation while accessing the hospital Cancer Care Unit (this is an exceptional place) Public Hospital, or Port Macquarie Private Hospital if treatment is needed there. The place was spotless and had more than we could have needed: tea and coffee, yummy biscuits, a microwave in the room, dining area and crockery. The bathroom had room for a shower or wheelchair, with the power points and sink at accessible heights. Towels and hand towels were provided, and the queen bed and single had crisp, clean sheets. Phil handled my booking and was so welcoming and friendly, with a great sense of humour. We had a laugh. After we left our night sensor light in the unit, they contacted us straight away so we could collect it. Phil said we have a standing invitation to call Rotary Lodge directly if I need more treatment and they'll sort it out. Thanks too to Paula and the office Staff, and to the incredibly honest cleaner who returned my light. The accommodation, service and welcome couldn't be better. Thank you, Rotary.

The renovated or new rooms are fantastic value, and it's quiet right by the hospital. Check-in and check-out were easy. It's about 10 minutes from the beach and main town centre. Disability Friend. Highly recommended.

The staff were kind and really helpful. I appreciate the support they gave us when we needed it most. If you have a patient at Port Macquarie base hospital and need somewhere nearby to stay, this is the place.

Glad I hadn't booked online. I called at 2:42 am on 22/5/2025 to ask about availability. The woman who answered sounded like I'd woken her up. She asked if I meant right now, in a very rude way. I said yes, even though it was 2am. She asked if I was coming from the hospital, and when I said no, she told me she couldn't help me. I tried to say something else, but she deliberately hung up, maybe to go back to sleep. Because the Pacific Highway was closed, we couldn't get through. If this accommodation is exclusively for hospital visitors, it shouldn't be on Google or be misleading online. It should only be listed on the hospital website.
