Bell Motel

The rooms at the front might be nicer, but down the back our experience was awful. I understand the owner rents rooms to people who are homeless, which is kind, but paying guests still need basic cleanliness and maintenance. Apparently there have been complaints before, yet nothing seems to have changed. Some wall holes looked like they had just been plastered over without being finished. Our room smelled of cigarette smoke, the carpet was stained, and we found cockroaches. The fridge door and seal were dirty, and there was broken glass right outside our window in a messy backyard. The bathroom fan had mold and was caked in dust. There were no towel rails, nowhere to hang bathers, and no toilet roll holder. Sheets had been left out all day and night before they were put on the beds. The walls were so thin we could hear neighbours talking. The whole place was vile. I wouldn't recommend this motel to anyone. Don't stay here.

The room could use some updating because of its age, though nothing major. The person who served me was friendly and easygoing, and otherwise it was a good motel.

We left at 2 am after only a few hours. There were cockroaches in the fridge, which was dirty inside the door and around its seal. The room smelled like smoke, and the walls were so thin we could hear people talking and banging about. The bathroom fan was moldy and clogged with dust. There was no towel rail or toilet roll holder, and the toilet brush still had toilet paper from inside the toilet on it. I wouldn't recommend this motel to anybody, especially families with children. Wish I could give it half a star.

It was handy being close to the hospital, which was the main reason I stayed. For the price, it was okay and did what I needed for one night before the next morning. There was a dead cockroach on the floor, and the TV barely picked up reception until I fiddled with it. The wall above the bed had dirty handprints, possibly from massage oil or something similar. Apart from those things, it was okay.
