The resort was a comfortable enough place to stay while we explored Mudgee, and getting into town only took a short drive. Our room was clean and worked fine for a short visit. We were there for three nights. The more hands-off setup took a bit of getting used to. There’s no phone line to reception, so guests are directed to WhatsApp, where the replies seemed automated. For basic things like towels, hangers or shower caps, we had to go to reception ourselves. There was no housekeeping during our stay, either, and breakfast choices were limited. It covered our basic needs, but the service felt impersonal and inconvenient at times. Probably suits people who are comfortable with a self-service stay.

The tent and setting were lovely. The bed was warm and comfortable, the lighting was great, and it was nice watching a kestrel hunt in the paddock and seeing the sunrise and sunset. The garden and pond were lovely too. We wanted to try something different with glamping, though quite a few things brought the stay down. The bathroom sink plug was stuck shut, and we only noticed after water was in the basin. I tried contacting reception several times but got no answer. The floor by the bedside table was sticky, and there was a dirty razor head in the shower. The rain shower was lovely, but we couldn’t turn it fully on without water spilling onto the bathroom floor. There was a sign promising a complimentary minibar and chocolates, but neither was there. I guessed housekeeping hadn’t replenished them. The TV channels and internet TV kept glitching. Also, be warned, you can hear everything the people in the neighbouring tents are saying and doing. 🫣🙉🤣

The restaurant was a real highlight of our family weekend at Parkland Resort. Its new menu had plenty of choice, and after a day exploring town it was great to have high quality food on site. The coffee was excellent too. The location made it easy to get around and see what we wanted. The staff were lovely, especially Manish, who was helpful throughout. A fantastic, easy and relaxing weekend. I’d highly recommend it.

Our room was spacious enough for our baby to explore and for his cot, and the bathroom was newly renovated, modern and clean. Breakfast was included in the room we booked. We stayed for five days, and you need to tell reception before 9am each day if you want the room cleaned. The facilities were very well maintained, and the staff were friendly and hospitable. The one thing we weren’t keen on was how strong the chlorine smell was in the indoor pool. We could still smell it on ourselves after showering. Apart from that, we had a great stay and would definitely come back to Mudgee.

The front desk staff and management were good, but seemed to be dealing with the effects of obvious cost cutting. It’s now an Accor property, and I think Accor management should ask the owners to put a lot of money into it. The restaurant felt like a shadow of its former self and had a very limited menu. We’ve stayed many times, including during the first week it opened as a Country Comfort property decades ago. This visit was absolutely depressing. The once impressive long driveway had dead or emaciated roses, broken lights and exposed irrigation pipes. Our large “Superior King” room was missing much of its former furniture and rug, and the bathroom sink had a massive crack that most owners would normally replace straight away. The old AC surged and crackled, and its control unit had yellowed. The bed, surprisingly, was good. If you need towels, collect them at reception, and now you need to ask if you want your room serviced.
