There’s loads of parking, though the spaces feel tight when people bring larger cars. The hotel is near Main Street, where there are tonnes of food choices, an easy walk away or an even quicker drive. My room was clean and comfortable.

The roadworks around the hotel were incredibly noisy, with trucks working late at night and starting again at 5:30 in the morning while most guests were asleep. The room itself was gloomy and draughty. The door didn’t sit properly in its frame, so we stuffed towels underneath it and cardboard around the frame to keep the cold air out. Loose carpet threads along the edges were a trip hazard, and under the bed we found another guest’s old socks and other items, so it hadn’t been cleaned properly. We had a child with us and asked for a room with a bedroom. It’s crazy to have to go to the laundry to heat food in a microwave, especially when there was an oven in the room but no baking tray. Reception could at least provide something to use. For what you pay, these rooms and the hotel need a serious upgrade. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The water pressure and temperature were magnificent, and housekeeping did a good job keeping the rooms in order. Reception staff were also doing their best with what they had, including cooking breakfast. There were heaps of tradies when I visited, and they seemed to know better than to eat breakfast at a multinational. But the place needs a deep clean. The carpet, grout and especially the split system filters need attention. We coughed throughout our stay. Check what’s happening with breakfast before booking it. The orange juice dispenser was blocked, the pineapple juice looked amber, and the apple juice drain plate stuck to the bottom of my glass. The Kmart food warmers didn’t keep the reheated eggs and other food warm, even with water added to the dish. The bacon was well cooked, but was allegedly left over from the day before and reheated. Toast condiments were in sticky, cloudy jars that everyone dipped into with their knives, and they were labelled wrong, with peanut butter in the honey spot for days in a row. The bread tasted somewhat dried out. I’ll stop there.

I was here for a work event, and the location worked perfectly for it. Having easy access to the swimming pool for exercise was a bonus.
