Oaks RedCliffe Mon Komo Suites

The pool was lovely, the gym was very poor, and Radcliffe is nice, even in a mini cyclone like this weekend. Outside, the water features and design look lovely, and reception was nice. My room looked stunning and was spotless. But in room 906 there was just one usable socket in the bedroom, none in the lounge apart from the one above the sink, and no desk. The internet was beyond poor, so my plan to catch up on work went badly. I can't imagine how families with children and devices manage.

I was happy with the stay and would return. I booked a one-bedroom balcony apartment through my company's travel platform but was given a top-floor two-bedroom apartment instead. It had everything I could need, including a full kitchen, living room with dining table, outdoor living and dining area with sea views, beautiful bathrooms and stylish bedrooms. When the laundry light tripped the lights, I reported it to Reception and someone came promptly to fix it, which I appreciated. A few towels had a lot of long blonde hair on them, which was off-putting. There was also a kitchen table notice asking guests to clean up after themselves and warning of a $350 cleaning charge if the apartment was in poor shape. I couldn't tell whether that meant not taking out the garbage would trigger the fee, which seemed unreasonable, or whether it applied only if the apartment was trashed, which would make sense.

We planned to stay just one night at Oaks Redcliffe Mon Komo Suites, but enjoyed it enough to add another. After leaving a different hotel where mould had caused breathing issues, the one-bedroom room on the 10th floor was a welcome change. The views were amazing by day and night, and the room was beautifully presented with everything we needed, including a very comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and helpful, and Woolworths is just across the road, with Redcliffe's food and coffee spots close by. We'll definitely stay again.

The room smelled odd, maybe of urine or mustiness. It was 37 outside, but the air conditioning wasn't on when I arrived, and after waiting 30 minutes it still hadn't cooled down, so I used my own fan to stay comfortable. Reception controls the temperature, and the room only got cooler when it got darker outside. I think they should anticipate this kind of weather. The cleaning needs more attention too: there was dust in the bathroom vent, and the balcony door wouldn't lock, which felt like a safety concern.
