We’ll be back. The old Glenelg tram has been renovated beautifully, with all the modern comforts you need, and Bradford made us feel very welcome. We loved the birds around the place, and the massage with essential oils was lovely and relaxing. Mary Cairncross reserve is about a 15-minute drive into Maleny, and the birding there was really cracking. A restful stay, highly recommended.

The drive up through the mountain tops was so peaceful and beautiful, and once there, the views were spectacular. Heaven and the Hills is right at the end of the road, with loads of birds and wildlife around. At night you can see the stars, and if you’re into it, you can light your own fire in the wood stove. We got to wake up to gentle rain sounds while staying in a 100-year-old train in the middle of the forest, which I never expected. Bradford was super friendly and showed us around the wellness spa, with its massage, barometric chamber, infrared sauna, and unusual crystal chakra light table. Quite an experience in such an unassuming place.

We had a lovely anniversary stay at Heaven in the Hills with our dog. Finding somewhere that’s truly dog-friendly can be hard, so this was a real gem. Bradford was an amazing host, and we’ll definitely return next year. The property was peaceful and quiet, just right for a few days away from the noise. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a good-sized fridge and plenty of milk. I also appreciated the little “forgot something” basket with essentials like a toothbrush and lotion. Nights were still chilly, so the fireplace made it extra cozy.

The milk in the fridge and the little amenities were thoughtful touches. I can’t believe I hadn’t found this place before. Being among the trees and wildlife feels like living in the clouds, with birdsong, raindrops, and an incredible sunset through the trees. It’s hard to describe how that makes you feel. I’ll most certainly be back.

On my third visit, I found the place just as calming as ever. The magnesium pool is oohhh so invigorating, and the little extras in the pantry were delightful. Thank you, Bradford, Jan, and of course Neo The black Lab. Given the location of Heaven in the hills, I couldn’t fault anything. There was absolutely none of the noise you’d expect in suburbia. For the first time in over 30 years, I fully relaxed for the whole stay. I’ll return as often as I can.
