Sharon and Kim were friendly hosts, and the kids loved getting close to the animals. We fed the sheep, two horses, an alpaca and some hens. Breakfast was lovely, with warm toast in the morning. The farm cottage was well maintained, and there’s a small play area with a trampoline, mini zipline and swings. The children had a great stay.

We were three Kiwis and all of us recommend this place. After days out, it was such a nice haven to come back to, and it was the best place we stayed in Tassie. We were sorry to leave. Kim and Sharon gave us a lovely welcome and looked after us so well. The cottage had everything we needed and more, and breakfast was terrific: fresh bread, homemade jam and fresh eggs to cook how you like. It’s a short drive to Richmond Village, where the bakery is fab, and a handy base for day trips.

The cottage unit was spotless and just right, with hotel standard bed linen. Breakfast arrived between 7:30 and 8:30, with warm freshly baked bread, homemade jam, yoghurt, cereal, fruit, juice, plunger coffee granules and sometimes fresh chicken eggs to cook your own way. I’m already looking forward to recommending the place and coming back. Kim and Sharon are warm, easygoing hosts who care about the farm, their home and all the animals. We enjoyed the banter, the animals and the breakfasts, as well as driving along the well-maintained farm track and getting a warm welcome. My only regret is missing the new home for their duck, called Thousand Dollar Duck. They were installing a pond for it. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The animal feeding with Sharron cost extra, but it was worth every cent. The animals were beautiful, and both the kids and adults loved it. Our cabin felt brand new, with modern decor, plenty of room, and everything we needed. It was clean, and the hosts were kind and helpful. You can tell the farmstay is a real labour of love. Free range chickens wandered around outside for the children, and there’s a lovely creek you can walk to behind the cabin. The morning breakfast basket was a nice touch, with fresh baked bread, homemade jam, eggs to choose from, cereal, coffee and yoghurt. Richmond is a lovely town with plenty for grown-ups and kids, and I’m so glad we stayed. Highly recommend it!

We’ll be back, and I can’t recommend this place enough. Our first family holiday was made easy, even with a two year old and a 10 month old. They offered a cot for the baby and a high chair and other baby things if we needed them. On arrival, we were shown to our cottage, which was absolutely spotless and thoughtfully set up for everyone in the family. Each day they delivered an enormous breakfast basket at the time we chose. The bread was freshly baked and still warm, with homemade jam. My husband and our two year old loved the animal feeding, and the toddler is still telling me about it. A beautiful, homely BnB with hosts who really care about your stay.
