The rooms are spacious, the beds are really comfortable, and the air conditioning is quiet and works great. The cleaning lad is lovely too. For the price, it’s a very good stay. The bathrooms feel quite old and could use renovation, though, and the shower takes a couple of minutes to get hot.

The place was dirty and unprofessional, and when we asked for a refund, the staff were rude and disrespectful. We’d paid for the stay in advance by credit card through the Agoda app, but on arrival they said it hadn’t been paid and wouldn’t let us in unless we paid again. They even claimed the booking was through Expedia, which wasn’t true. We booked on Agoda and had clear proof. We showed the payment confirmation in the app, but they still denied it. Be very careful and double-check everything before booking or staying here.

It’s an older building, and you can tell, but it was fine as a place to stay while exploring Sydney. The shared bathrooms were good, and the basic service was good too. It’s close to public transport and the airport, and the bar/bistro downstairs wasn’t too loud.

The security staff member Vikas was especially helpful, guiding us through the venue and being friendly and well groomed, with great etiquette. My mate and I popped in for a quick dinner last Monday, and the staff made it a lovely experience. We’ll be back soon.

The location was the only downside for me. The Novotel beach is a five minute drive away and is much better located. During our four nights here, though, the rooms were kept clean and tidy, and the service was top notch.
