The staff and management went above and beyond when we ran into a precarious situation this morning. They did everything they could to accommodate us. The rooms are spacious, gorgeous in their period setting and very clean. Location loses a star because train noise can be quite loud, and you can only turn left into the driveway. Still, it was close to everything we needed.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, there was water in the fridge, and the room was great. The location is great too, with Great Western right next door, always a good vibe. I really can’t complain, though the TV was so far from the bed that I had to squint and eventually gave up watching.

A good bed, clean room and a convenient location. The building has a lovely old-world feel, like stepping back 100 years. It’s very reasonably priced, with a great pub across the street.

The location is noisy, and at this price I’d expect more. There’s no restaurant or room service, and rooms are only cleaned on weekends. It doesn’t really feel like a four-star hotel. It might be alright if it were a lot cheaper.

The trains passing by are part of the fun, and a good reason to stay if you’re into trains and history. I spent a couple of nights here and can’t complain. There’s an old charm and an interesting history, plus a large bed and spa bath.
