Manuel Towers

A really disappointing start to what was meant to be a special stay while I was visiting from New Zealand. We were told we could pay on arrival, but our booking was cancelled as we got there because of poor communication about payment. Beforehand, we’d also called to ask if we could change from two nights to one and were told that was fine. Even so, our room had been given to other guests.

Ali and Manuel were so helpful and lovely, and nothing seemed to be a problem for them. The motel itself is a unique place, clean and comfortable, with lovely beach views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this beautiful spot. Thank you, Ali and Manuel.

I came across this place by chance while looking for a last-minute stay on New Year’s Eve, and it turned out to be one of those happy accidents. I was travelling alone and felt safe in the comfortable room. The owners were welcoming and knew the area well, and the service was good. There’s a local shop nearby for supplies. I’d have stayed longer, but home duties called. I’m planning to return for some relaxation and creative time.

Manuel towers felt warm and cosy, a welcome change from the sterile feel of a lot of accommodation. With only a few rooms, it was quiet, intimate and relaxing. The beach is right across the road, and the ferry to penguin island is nearby. The place is distinctive and lovely, with clear thought put into how it was done. We had a wonderful stay.
