Chateau Elan At The Vintage

The villa was a little older and showing its age, so it could use a small facelift. Still, we had a lovely two-night stay and would recommend the place. The rooms are generous in size and the bed is comfortable. Staff were lovely, and having the pool and restaurants right on the premises was handy. If you golf, the course is a must play. I played twice and loved it. We'll certainly be back.

The food and wine were the best I've enjoyed, and Bilanca, the maître @ Legend Restaurant, went out of her way to make my birthday dinner special. Huge thanks as well to Kym, the Event Manager, and all the friendly staff who made my birthday weekend at the Hunter so enjoyable. The location worked perfectly for catching up with friends and family. We ran out of time to play golf, so that's for our next visit. A very big thank you!

The staff were, as always, polite, helpful and genuinely obliging. With the NSW golf open on, you'd never have guessed from how quiet it was. We had great entertainment watching unaccompanied golf buggies make their way around the fairways from our patio, and kangaroos and blue tongues were very polite visitors. The staff have them well trained! Our one-bed kitchen villa had what we needed, though paper towel, sharp knives, a serving bowl and platter were missing. They're refurbishing the rooms. The bath and ensuite were well supplied, if a little run down, and should be finished by our next visit.

We loved seeing kangaroos hopping across the course from our balcony window. The one-bedroom villa felt cosy, spacious and homely, and the bed was comfortable. On a cold, windy winter day, walking in to find the gas fireplace already on was such a lovely touch. We played 9 holes at The Vintage before checking in, which was a lot of fun. The area was quiet and discreet, and the facilities seemed fairly modern. The only snag was that we couldn't get the streamcast on the TV to connect, but it wasn't a big deal. We were busy enjoying Hunter Valley's restaurants and wineries anyway. We booked a mid-week, two-night winter getaway at Chateau Elan and would love to return one day!
