The park was a great base for our April 2026 overnight stop between Port Augusta and Andamooka. Our huge cabin was tidy and comfortable, and we could park right beside it. Everything around the park felt organised and clean. The service was warm, and the washing machine and dryer were free. We’ve stayed at plenty of G'Day / Discovery Parks on road trips and enjoyed this one. Very central, with a great park. Would recommend it. Thank you.

There aren't many caravan sites, so I'd book ahead. On arrival, you collect your papers from an outdoor safe using a code sent by SMS. The park has clean amenities, free washing machines, a dump point, water and power. The town is built around mine workers, and the park seems to be too. Roxby Downs has what you need, including a big Mitre 10. Andamooka is worth the drive, a strange, historic opal mining town.

It was very expensive, and mine workers leaving for work made a lot of noise early in the morning. Several washing machines were out of order, too. Our caravan was given a very small space, which a greedy neighbour made even smaller.

The showers are a bit odd: you turn the hot water up full and then use the cold to set the temperature. Aside from that, the two-bedroom cabin was brilliant. It had a kitchenette, a good-sized fridge, all the utensils, and a really comfortable bed. I'd recommend it for either a short or longer stay.

The bed was amazingly comfortable, one of the best mattresses I've slept on. The unit was clean and comfortable, and it was quite cheap compared with lots of places I've stayed. It wasn't very soundproof, though, and it took me a while to fall asleep. The shower had low flow but was nice and hot, and I could take it off the wall to wash properly. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm back this way.
