Just a heads-up, we stayed in the cottage, not the house shown in the main Google photo. Maybe our group wasn’t large enough to warrant the house. 😅 The cottage was comfortable, had all the amenities we needed, and was good value. Our host was friendly and welcoming, and happy to share what he knows about the area. We enjoyed our stay. 👍

The property is lovely to explore and close to the convict ruins. We also drove to Port Arthur. Back at the house, the undercover deck and BBQ made a great place to sit, watch the water and unwind. Our family of five stayed three nights and really enjoyed it. It’s a secluded spot with native wildlife dropping by and lovely views from everywhere. A short walk across the road takes you to the water, where you can fish, swim or take a relaxing stroll. The kids loved paddling around the calm bay in the tandem kayak, and even on a rainy day they had books, games and DVDs to keep them busy. The place was very clean and tidy, with a fully equipped kitchen and super-comfy beds. We’ll definitely be back.

We had such a peaceful, cosy stay, and got a warm, friendly welcome. The heat pump was already on when we arrived, which was lovely. There’s a lot to see around the area, and Hobart is only about an hour away. We spotted dolphins and a seal during our visit, and the bed was AMAZING. We’ll definitely come back one day.

The hosts were friendly and knew plenty about local natural and historical spots. There are scenic hikes for all ages and abilities, and remarkable convict ruins and a cemetery nearby, with free admission. The location is beautiful, and the view from the bedroom, living room and deck was glorious. We also got to see a magnificent sunrise.

We rented the cottage and loved winding down on the porch after a long day, with a glass of wine and a good book. A family of rabbits would come out of the little copse of trees and romp around. When the tide was out, we could stroll down to the beach and walk across to the remains of the old convict pier, dodging the little sand crabs. There was so much more to enjoy, and we’ll definitely return.
