Beach Haven Executive Apartments

We stayed twice within a few weeks. Both rooms were comfortable to sleep in and I didn’t notice any hygiene problems. The heated outdoor pools were in great shape, and it was only a 100-metre walk to the private beach. There are some maintenance jobs to deal with: the wall-mounted toilet roll holder needed attention, the spa bath knobs pulled out, the front door needed a brick to hold it open, and the trim holding the bedroom drapes was deteriorated. It was a good stay overall, and I’d visit again.

I wouldn’t recommend spending your money here. We paid a lot during peak season, and the apartment didn’t come close to being worth the rate. It was the only available place I found rated above three stars when I booked, but I wouldn’t give it two. The owners should put some money into the property and bring it up to the price they charge. The room was shabby and badly in need of renovation. The carpet was so dirty I didn’t dare walk on it barefoot. The balcony was dirty, the curtains had mould, and the bathroom fan didn’t work. Its door wouldn’t close fully. We booked a one-bedroom apartment with a sofa bed and trundle but weren’t given any linen for them. Luckily, I’d packed sheets just in case. And the doorstop leading into the apartment was a big rock, seriously.

The motel was noisy, which made for a poor romantic weekend away. It definitely didn’t feel like a four-star place. We booked for the spa, but it was dirty, and the jets had lost their silver finish. I didn’t feel safe using it. The outdoor seating was mismatched, with one cane chair and one plastic one, and another chair had a cushion covered in mould. Our room only had a small ocean view, nothing like the pictures.

For what I paid, this was a really disappointing stay. We had to clean the spa bath ourselves because it was still dirty and dusty. There was a broken-open packet of sip sprayed behind the TV, dust everywhere, and scratches on the walls and ceiling. The hot water didn’t work, and the minibar was empty. When we went to the front desk politely, they just said we could leave if we wanted. No apology, and no offer to send someone to clean. The only good part was the balcony view. I think the empty minibar was totally wrong too!
