We paid almost $5,000, and during the statewide lockdown they returned just $1,000 after we begged. We even offered to let them keep 50%. There was no service, no rescheduling, and no mercy. They did offer a 50% credit if we booked another date, but the same rubbish terms applied, and they wanted more of our money. I’m appalled by how we were treated. I’ve never dealt with people this rude or greedy, and my friends can’t believe it either. We trusted the terms and conditions box would cover something standard and reasonable, ticked it without reading, and won’t make that mistake again. I strongly suggest spending your money elsewhere. Thanks for nothing, MannaScum.

The last straw was the owner's representative hanging up on me while we were still talking. They'd refused more than once even to discuss the issue. When we paid in full, we had indicated that the booking should not proceed if there were a Government lock down. We couldn't use the booking once one happened, but the owners kept all the money anyway. Under no circumstances should you book this property. Don't have anything to do with these people.

For our group, a COVID-19 lockdown meant we couldn't travel more than 5kms from home, so we never got to see the place. MannaGum kept four thousand dollars from our deposit and returned one thousand. That's a very expensive stay we never had. The terms and conditions do say this, but it feels like a distasteful way to do business. Don't book here. No thanks, Manna Gum. Buyer beware!

I live in Melbourne and was looking for somewhere to stay with my extended family. I first spotted MannaGum Alpine Lodge on AirBNB, then checked these Google reviews and, as people suggested, looked at the terms. They really are as bad as described. Thanks to the reviewers for the heads-up. Kerry Jones's recent post looks like it’s from the owner using another profile. Honestly, update those terms and I might book, because the place looks great. A booking fee being kept makes sense to me, but the rest of the conditions are steep, to put it mildly. The owner should show a bit more understanding. Lockdowns have affected other people too.
