Scamander Beach Resort

The hotel has a lot of potential, but it needs more care. Our room wasn’t very clean, with dust clumps everywhere and marks on the walls. The balcony doors were dodgy, and one wouldn’t lock. The receptionist who greeted us wasn’t very nice, though the ladies at reception when we checked out were wonderful. Restaurant staff were lovely and the food was tasty, but despite few people dining they were sold out of several dishes, including the ice cream in the kids pack. That can happen, but nothing else was offered instead. Ground floor rooms with playground access could use a small fence around the door, as people tried to enter the wrong room and gathered right outside our door.

The room was a little small, but since we were out most of the day it was adequate. It’s a great base for exploring this part of Tasmania, with very friendly service and an exceptional beachfront view from the room.

A very practical hotel, and a good reason to visit northeast Tasmania if you need one. The staff were excellent, apart from one. Monica and Joe, take a bow. They’re beautiful humans, and sometimes enjoy a late drink 🤗.

Great food, very comfy beds, and a beautiful view. The rooms are small but manageable for adults, and everything was clean and tidy. The staff are down-to-earth and respectful. It’s well placed for exploring the east coast and beyond, and the price per person was perfect for our budget. The only thing missing was a microwave, though I didn’t need one. Smokers are welcome too, and can pick between a morning smoffee out the front with an awesome view or out the back without one. I’d happily stay again.
