Scarborough Beach Resort QLD

The reception is welcoming, with flowers and comfortable seating, and the staff are super friendly and helpful if you need directions or extra beach towels. Everything was clean and in perfect working order. My unit was comfortable and well equipped, and I loved the rooftop pool and barbecue, with beautiful views day and night. There’s an indoor pool and gym too. Scarborough Beach Resort is right on the Scarborough beachfront, close to shops, cafes, a doctor, chemist and a huge family-friendly playground across the way. It has barbecues, covered picnic tables and long cement paths for easy daily walks. I absolutely loved my stay and wholeheartedly recommend it.

The staff were great, and they sorted out any issues we brought to their attention. We mostly enjoyed our two weeks, though the building is probably 25 years old and some areas need maintenance. Our first-floor one-bedroom apartment had a very large balcony with a partial water view, but cigarette smoke from below blew through the apartment many times. The full kitchen needs updating. The cooktop was unreliable, it was impossible to tell when the oven had reached temperature, and the cheap cutlery and pans were in poor condition. None of the knives were sharp enough for food prep. The bathroom also serves as the laundry, so it felt cramped. The shower was a decent size, but its narrow opening and odd door meant entering and leaving sideways. The bedroom was large, with a comfortable bed and nice linen. There’s a decent gym, heated lap pool, very large spa and sauna on site. The rooftop area has fake grass, a barbecue, chairs and tables, and great views. The location is fabulous, opposite the beach at Scarborough Beach. Overall it was a pleasant stay, but more like 3.5 stars than 4.

My parents came to visit from the uk and were appalled by the poor hygiene and soft furnishings. Their room was infested with cockroaches, and management told them that was normal when they reported it. It didn’t match the rooms advertised, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.

The location near the beach is wonderful, and there’s a great pool area, sauna and gym. The rooftop BBQ area has amazing views of Morton Bay!!
