Comfy and stylish, and just right for what we needed this time. After a full day driving, the lovely bread and wine were a welcome treat. The bed squeaked a bit, but it gave the cottage some character.

The bed was comfortable, though the queen mattress sat on a king-size base, leaving little space beside it and exposed wooden edges that I kept banging my shins on. The place was tastefully decorated, and the basket of eggs and homemade bread was a lovely welcome. Fixing the issues below could make this a fantastic place. The shower setup was frustrating. Adjusting the much vaunted dual showers while both were running was almost impossible, and the hot water ran out before we could really enjoy them. The fireplace also didn’t draw well, and the chimney seemed to need cleaning. The bedroom view was overgrown. Maybe that was for privacy, but there was hardly anyone around to look in, so it seemed more like poor upkeep. From the veranda, wires blocked the view, and the chairs were awkward to move because they were chained down, presumably to prevent theft. Getting onto the lawn was difficult too, with ugly makeshift fencing in the way, apparently meant to keep wild animals off the veranda. The highway turnoff was signed adequately, but the driveway itself wasn’t well marked.
The chalet had every detail covered for a relaxing stay, and it was peaceful and quiet while still close to town. We especially loved the welcome basket with fresh eggs, bread, butter and chocolates. The bed was so comfortable that we checked the brand and bought one after getting back to Perth! Amazing chalets in an amazing location. Thanks to Gavin and Andrea, this place is a real credit to you both. We’ll be back.
We loved the wood fire and the fresh bread and boutique coffee provided. The chalet was clean and well looked after, with a charming rustic feel and everything thoughtfully arranged. It’s in a lovely setting, with morning light and a bush outlook.
The home-baked bread, eggs, butter and coffee made a perfect birthday breakfast. We came for a four-day break to celebrate my 60th, and Scotsdale Valley Studios was superb, with beautiful accommodation and such peace and quiet. Thoroughly recommend, A+.
