Wendy was a terrific host, and the food prepared for our stay was thoughtful, classy and delicious. This delightful little cottage is beautifully and carefully appointed, with a separate lounge and bedroom, plus a large bathroom with a claw bath beside lovely French doors. The cellar was a surprise. The air conditioning worked brilliantly, and everywhere is about a 15 minute drive away. Highly recommend.

The outdoor dining table was such a nice place to spend a lazy afternoon, looking out over the cottage garden and all the birds. The Retreat is right in the heart of the Barossa, next to Hentley Farm and just around the corner from Seppeltsfield wines and Fino restaurant. Wendy was incredibly helpful while we booked and with suggestions for things to do nearby. We spent five nights there and loved the beautiful, well equipped house and gardens. Everything seems to have been thought of. It worked perfectly for the two of us, but could suit a family or three couples too, since the layout gives everyone space. There was a generous welcome supply of groceries: local bread, milk, eggs, bacon, juice, yoghurt, tomatoes and a lovely cheese board. Such a lovely surprise and much appreciated. It’s a perfect place to enjoy the Barossa and then come back to relax. We can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Wendy.

Jodie even called after we’d left to get a mailing address so she could send back a jumper we forgot. That sums up how thoughtful the stay was. Everything was covered, from our special dietary needs and coffee habits to clear guides for finding things and using the household items. The fireplace was all ready, and we only had to light the match. We arrived after an amazing lunch at Fino restaurant just around the corner at Seppeltsfield Winery. The surrounding grounds were immaculate even in late winter, with flowers just starting to bloom. The in house cellar was another lovely detail. It was a five star stay that exceeded all our expectations, and we only wish we could have stayed twice as long. It may have ruined other cottages for us. We’d definitely return on our next Barossa visit. Thank you, Jodie.

The cottage felt like a home away from home, with everything we needed and a lovely setup throughout. The location is gorgeous, and the landscaping outside is perfect if you love photography. If I come back to Barossa, I’ll stay here again for sure.

We’re proud to be the first to review Seppeltsfield Vineyard Cottage on Google, and give it 5 out of 5 stars. It’s one of the Barossa Valley’s best places to stay, with multiple awards, and it had 5 out of 5 on TripAdvisor from 90 reviews when we wrote this. Packages are available for some of the Barossa’s must do activities, including Hentley Farm, 1918 and/or Appellations restaurant, so it’s hard to look past for a visit to the region. We especially like the airy, relaxed bedroom, subdued decor, antique furnishings, garden views and free Wi-Fi. Be sure to check in here next time you’re coming to the Barossa!
