My first proper country pub stay, and I had a good time. The place could use some maintenance, but Jo behind the bar was lovely with the bookings, drinks and food, and was so friendly. The pub meals were generous and tasty, and it was nice meeting a few friendly locals. Cheers 🤪

We turned up at 12.10pm and the pub was closed, even though David had told me on the phone at 11.15am that they were open for lunch that Wednesday, given us the hours and said he looked forward to seeing us. I'd tried several times before, but the stop-start opening hours meant I couldn't get there. Save yourself the trouble and drive 10mins down the road to The Court House pub at Smythesdale. The food there is seriously good and the service amazing, couldn't fault it.

Went for dinner with friends on a really busy Friday night. The place had a great vibe, the food was good, and it wasn't expensive. A solid country pub.

Thursdays you can get a Parmi and a pot for $25, and the Spud Parmi comes piled with an inch of mashed potato plus its own jug of gravy. Honestly, that one should get at least a Michelin star! It's a great old pub, with cheerful fires and happy, friendly locals. All the food looked excellent, and the parmi was the biggest and best on the planet.
