The Elandra

The service was the highlight for us. Everyone, from reception to the bar and restaurant, was friendly and genuine, and made the whole getaway even better. The food and cocktails were delicious too. The hotel is gorgeous, with modern rooms in perfect condition and incredible views. There’s plenty of local wildlife around, and I’d highly recommend a massage at the day spa. The masseuse was incredible and so lovely. We had the best getaway, perfect for a relaxing trip. Can’t recommend it enough, we’ll definitely be back!

The setting was beautiful, with a light shower over the large pool, the ocean beyond it and Dunk Island in the background. It made the evening feel promising, but the dining didn’t live up to the atmosphere. We attended the Valentine’s Day dinner at The Elandra Resort on February 14, and left somewhat underwhelmed, despite appreciating the work involved in hosting special events. At this price, the steak seeming to have been prepared in advance was surprising. Our entrées arrived before our drinks, and because they looked pre-plated, they sat in front of us for about 10 minutes while we waited for beverages. That disrupted the flow and made the service feel rushed. We also saw other guests asking about how consistent their meals were. The service overall felt fast-paced instead of relaxed and intimate, which was what we’d hoped for on a special, romantic occasion. The surroundings were undeniably stunning, but the evening didn’t quite meet the standard or experience we expected.

We’ve visited many times and always enjoyed it, so it was disappointing that three of our four meals on this recent trip were so far below standard, especially for the price. We’re happy to pay good money, but the food needs to be above average. The service was still wonderful, and Eric went out of his way to make the experience perfect. We’re confident things will get back on track and the meals will return to the standard we’ve loved before.

We had a fabulous “Locals” dining experience at Elandra with dear friends from Melbourne. The picturesque setting came with superb, mouth-watering food and friendly, attentive staff. Thoroughly recommend this little jewel!
