We spent three nights in Room 25, the budget queen room I’d chosen, though they did offer us another option. It was a bit small, but we made it work and enjoyed our stay. There’s no sea view from the room, but the place is well worth it. Set up on a hill a few minutes from Stanley, it has a pretty amazing view. Our room didn’t have air-conditioning, but there was a fan we never needed, even in summer. The days and nights were glorious.

The accommodation itself was lovely, and the receptionist at lunchtime was great and very helpful. Later, though, our TV remote stopped working, and there was nobody to help after reception closed at 6pm. I tried the phone number and the mobile, but both went to message bank. Really disappointing service. I’m just glad it wasn’t the toilet or some major problem.

Sheep grazing in the paddock beside the hotel made the stay feel peaceful and authentically Tasmanian, especially with the green fields and ocean together. The rooms were clean and comfortable too. Stanley Seaview Inn is high on the hill, giving you an incredible outlook over The Nut and the ocean. For me, it’s the best vantage point in Stanley, and a perfect spot for a relaxing stay.

The room was a great size and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful, with some really good suggestions for exploring the local area. Do pay the extra mini bar fee for the red liquorice in chocolate, it’s beautiful.

The room was spacious and immaculately clear, with very comfortable pillows and plenty of complimentary tea and coffee. A plush fairy penguin was waiting on one of the beds, and for only aud25 it’s definitely coming home with me. Codie at reception was engaging and gave us invaluable tips for seeing penguins at sunset, plus dining recommendations. We arrived late, and she even accommodated my late checkout request.
