The balcony views were stunning, and I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities and food. I stopped for lunch while passing through and really enjoyed the meal. I’d come back and book a room to explore more of the south west. Definitely a good place to stop if you’re nearby.

The location overlooking Lake Pedder was fantastic. We could enjoy the view while eating, and the newly built room was very clean, with nice toiletries and amenities. It seemed a little pricey at first, but after checking in, it felt worth it. Xin was exceptionally helpful. She warmed up our packed dinner and gave us a free late checkout, making sure we were comfortable.

The lodge turned out to be a pleasant surprise, with good service, reasonable prices, a nice restaurant, and a great location. We stayed one night after the long drive to the end of the road and back. The dam and other sights were well worth the trip. During our two weeks in Tassie, this was one of the better-value places we found. Tourists can sometimes feel like prey, I think.

The room had a spectacular view, and Foxtel was a big plus. It was easy to keep the temperature comfortable, and the bed was fairly comfortable too. Dining choices in Strathgordon are limited, though dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were more than enough.

Food, wine, rooms, views, location, all five-star. It’s stunning, and lucky for us it’s the only option. This is the sort of review I almost don’t want to post in case the price goes up. Our weary souls found their number one stay in Tassie.
