Frog Hollow

We loved being able to use the canoes for free and fish from our own jetty, just a few steps from the apartment. The lake views were beautiful, the place was peaceful, and it still felt close to Ulladulla and local beaches. After sunny days and chilly nights, sitting by the lakeside fire pit was especially cosy. Our apartment was spotless and well equipped, with a handy kitchen, comfortable beds and a private balcony overlooking the lake. Steve was friendly and helpful, and made check-in easy. You can tell he cares about the property and his guests. We spent three nights here during the school holidays and had a wonderful stay from start to finish. We’ll be back to Lakes Edge Apartments for another South Coast escape.

The lake view from room 7 was amazing. We stayed six nights in a roomy, comfortable unit. The bed was a little hard, but we still slept fine. It’s a good option for family reunions, with a pool and the lake right there for paddle boards, canoeing and fishing at your door. Steve was a friendly host. Thank you for a great six nights.

The setting on the lake is lovely and quiet, with a pleasant outlook, but I won’t be coming back. Although the unit was scrupulously clean, its 1990s decor felt a bit depressing, and the whole place seemed neglected and run-down. The mattresses sagged and need replacing. There was no milk in the fridge, the tea-making supplies were meagre, and not even a packet of biscuits was provided. The deck needs painting or replacing, and the overgrown, messy gardens scrape your car as you drive in. There was a nice fireplace, but hardly any wood for it. When we arrived around 4pm, I had already contacted the property about my registered assistance dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The owner seemed surprised when I showed his papers and said they’d had a bad experience with a service dog before. I felt anxious about his reaction. He checked the papers, pointed us toward the unit, shut the window, and that was that.

The units are old, but very clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, the staff were friendly, and check-in and check-out were easy. We’ll visit again.
