Murray River Motel

The location was perfect for walking along the river to good coffee shops, or into town for dinner and a drink. There was a nice green area to sit in, and the swimming pool was right outside our door. Our room was spacious, housekeeping came daily, the beds were comfortable, and the water pressure was great.

The swimming pool was a nice bonus, and the room had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable overnight stay. It was spacious and good value for money. Reception staff were very helpful and accommodating. I'd highly recommend the hotel to anyone travelling to or stopping in the Swan Hill area.

The staff were very friendly, and the motel was quiet even though it's on the main road. It's a little farther from the city centre than I was led to believe, but I think that helped keep the noise down. The room and bathroom look extremely small at first, but don't let that put you off. The bed and pillows were so comfortable that I slept better than I do at home. Housekeeping did an alright job, though I was disappointed the floor wasn't vacuumed daily. I'd highly recommend staying here if you have your own transport.

We couldn't wait to leave. Cleanliness was a major problem, even though we're not usually fussy. The carpet was sticky and so unpleasant we couldn't take our shoes off. There was soap scum and mould in the bathroom, the floor was unclean, and the windowsill had dust and dead bugs. The room seemed not to have had a proper clean in a long time, and the whole property felt very rundown. Very disappointing, and hard to understand how the place got so many good reviews.
