Anna at reception is patient and really helpful whenever there's a problem. Eduard, the cleaner, is responsible and keeps everything spotless and comfortable. I really appreciate what they do!
I’ve lived at abercrombie student accommodation for over a year, and I’d recommend it to students. It’s fairly quiet, and there are study rooms on every floor, so you can study safely at night close to your room instead of going to a library. The business building is only a five-minute walk away, which is convenient. When I’ve asked for repairs or cleaning, they’ve dealt with things quickly. I once asked them to clean my chair and they got it looking like new. I was really pleased with that.
It’s a welcoming community, and maintenance requests get handled quickly. The location is very handy too, right beside the uni and only a short walk from the city. Abercrombie Student Accomodation is a great place to live.
The place is hot and stuffy, with no A/C, and you only get 10 gb of wifi. Laundry costs extra, and you hear people coming and going all the time. They keep sending obnoxious emails about checkout and cleaning, but maintenance requests can take ages to get a response, if they get one at all. A lot of the Aussie staff respond to questions with excuses about 'wear and tear', confusion, or a patronizing attitude. They pick at small cleanliness or maintenance details that weren't even clean when you moved in. The front desk is often empty, and staff come into your room whenever they want. This happens often, sometimes with four different people showing up on different days about the same issue that should have been fixed already. They test the alarms often too, so it's not peaceful. For what they charge, it's really a last resort. You can find somewhere much better, and they've now added a bond on top of the cleaning fee.
The location is good for students, but living here has been frustrating. I'm here now, and the staff are lazy and aggressive. Any maintenance problem can take weeks to fix, and they don't seem to care whether you're having trouble. If you get locked out, they charge $20, even though you're a student. You can get a better place for that money.
