Adina Serviced Apartments Sydney Martin Place

The staff were welcoming and helpful, the WiFi was good, and the room heating kept us warm on a very cold weekend. Beds were comfortable, the linen and kitchen were clean, the appliances all worked, and the bathroom looked well presented. The balcony faced straight into the neighbouring building. The location is good, though it isn’t actually in Martin Place, which is a bit misleading. There’s no parking, and nearby car parks cost almost as much as the hotel. The advertised pool doesn’t exist. The so-called fitness centre is in the basement and has an old stationary bike, a lat pull-down machine and a medicine ball. Below average overall.

The best part was the reception team. They were so friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome every time we came through the door. One person seemed tired and less cheerful for a day, then seemed back to normal the next day. The apartment’s a little dated. The fridge and I had a good chat every time I opened it, and the shower isn’t made for anyone over 5 foot. They provide a baby cot, but bring your own blankets. In-room dining seemed to be unavailable, which made dinner that first night a bit tricky. The bed was comfortable, though, and we had everything we needed.

The staff were pleasant and the location was good, but there are better places around. It’s dated and not well maintained. Maybe fine for a couple of nights, but a longer stay wasn’t pleasant for us. The dishwasher didn’t clean the dishes, the air conditioning went from roasting to freezing with nothing in between, and the bathroom was cramped. Good luck trying to have a bath in that tiny tub.

The location is really handy, with public transport and a food court just steps away. The staff were great, it was clean, and there’s a full kitchen and laundry in the suite. The decor could use some TLC. There’s a huge step into the shower. I’ve had a knee replacement and managed it, but I wouldn’t recommend it for someone with a chronic disability. The price is good.
